So last Sunday was my third wedding fayre in a row. This time it was held at The Glasshouse in Doncaster.
The Glasshouse is a lovely pub which now has a Michelin trained chef. The function room is a building adjacent to the main building which means that you and your guests can party without being interrupted by uninvited guests. The room has it’s own bar and toilets and is a lovely space which lends itself to being a blank canvas for you to decorate as you wish.
We arrived early again to set up and my poor hubby came along with me to be my fetcher and carrier. The last couple of weeks has taken its toll on my M.E. and I was struggling and in a lot of pain so this fayre was a struggle for me. I dosed up on pain killers and put on my best ‘I’m fine and not hurting’ smile and got on with the day. It was a beautiful sunny day which was great as it meant that lots of brides came to see us. There were lots of other fab exhibitors and the room looked so pretty.
It was great to speak to all the excited brides to be about their weddings and their dresses and find out what accessories they were looking for. It really helps to know what the brides want when choosing what stock to buy.
The organiser of the event Sue Wells was lovely and made me feel very welcome. Her stationary designs are so pretty and worth a look.
The lovely aroma of chocolate also filled the air courtesy of Chocolate Steel and their chocolate fountain which is very yummy!!
We also learnt a lot from the lovely lady on the stand next to us – Karen Grimes from Silver Star cars who gave us a few tips and hints about being in the wedding business. Her cars are beautiful.
A few other exhibitors who were there on the day and are worth a mention are:
Cuts and Co who did the hair and makeup for models on the day and they looked stunning!!
Rob Taylor photography who has some stunning photos.
Posies and Frills who had the most stunning cakes, including a white and lilac fairytale castle which I loved!
So all in all a good day was had by all!
If you came to see us we hope you had a good day too.
